Langans Brushwood Spy

My introduction to the Shiba Inu was in 1994 when Spy (Ch. Langans Brushwood Spy) entered my life. Although I had owned other purebred dogs, Spy easily won my heart with his sweet disposition and laid back attitude. Spy has been a joy to show (…he did pull some stunts in the ring as a pup) and live with. He set the standard for the temperament I wanted to produce in my dogs. Now, nearing thirteen years old, he is still going strong even though his naps in the sun are longer and more frequent.

Spy was thrilled to come out of a LONG retirement and strut his stuff at the Shiba Inu Canada First National Specialty 2006 in Edmonton winning Best Veteran in both the Sweeps and Specialty!

Since Spy, I have been lucky to work with Susan Norris-Jones of Sunojo Shiba Inus.

Arwen (Sunojo's Evenstar at Usheens) is a sweet, gentle little girl who is true to type. She produced Kori (Usheens Encore of Sunojo) who is a young up and comer in our breeding program.

We are also "owned by" Strider (Sunojo's Elessar at Usheens) - this boy is always the clown and loves to push my buttons - but adorable all the same. Strider proudly sired his first litter in August 2006 - a beautiful litter of five with Arwen. Check out our Puppy Diary to take a peek at them! Out of that litter we introduce Grace (Usheens Grace of the Valar). Strider is also the proud sire of out newest addition, a black and tan boy, Vader.

Charm (Sunojo's Mei Wakusuru No Usheens) and Daichi (Katai's Daichi No Sunojo) are wonderful additions to our family and breeding program. Both enjoyed success at the Shiba Inu Canada National Specialty 2007.

We can't leave out little MeiMei, a full and younger sister to Dash. She is just starting out in the show ring and made us all proud going Best Puppy in Specialty Show at the Shiba Inu Canada National Specialty 2008!!

Finally, our two new baby boys, Vader and Genten, keep me on my toes! Both these boys will be out showing in 2009...it will be exciting to have a black and tan back in the ring again!
